seasonal tips

FALL / winter

Protecting your trees

Be sure to maintain deer protection through the end of December. There are various types of deer protection available at your local garden supply store. If fencing is not feasible there are many natural products, as well as native plants, that act as deterrents.

You will also want to make sure your evergreens are protected from windburn. This is performed as a spray application to be applied twice over the winter season.

Pruning

Fall is also a great time to prune trees and shrubs or transplanting trees that may have outgrown their current location or to be used as screening or shade at another spot on your property.

Improving Your Landscape

If you're looking to add trees to your landscape, Spring is the perfect time to observe a wide variety of flowering and ornamental trees. We can help you identify the trees you like and advise you on the trees that will best suit your needs.

Do you have a nearby property with unsightly views or need more privacy? Now that the trees are losing their leaves it's a good time to identify those 'view issues'. Consider installing screening evergreens, which offer the privacy of fencing in a more natural way. Give us a call to discuss screening options! With our own nursery and a vast network of other tree sources, we can find just the right trees for your needs. We provide no-cost site visits and cost estimates. American Treescapes would love to hear from you. Let us help you get your trees and shrubs ready for winter. Call us at 215-766-8733 any time.
